To 2012 and Beyond - Our Cycling Legacy

Father & Son Bonding
Highams Park Coaching Centre, HPCC, started coaching sessions in June 2010 and has a 100% success rate in teaching both children and adults to ride.
Our weekly coaching sessions are based on the needs of our least capable riders, ensuring everyone will be able to exerience the thrill of successfully adding new skills to their cycling, whilst being challenged to grow and develop.
The resulting boost to riders self-confidence, carries over into everyday life, bringing other benefits as well as boosting fitness. So far our youngest member has been 31/2 years old, our oldest member 67.

We Have 3 Objectives
- To develop a community cycling club to introduce families to the pleasure of cycling together, boost the participation of women and girls over 16, bring in thoses new to cycling and those returning to sport. We see ourselves as the first step to becoming a regular cyclist, with the economic benefits of cheaper, sustainable travel, and improved fitness through regular exercise.
- To develop the use of the circuit at Highams Park School, for youth racing, and other cycling clubs use, and to facilitate the development of coaching resources as part of the Waltham Forest Cycling legacy after the 2012 Olympic Games.
- Working with Waltham Forest Sports Development Team, to create a programme to identify, inspire and develop new talent in partnership with schools and other community groups, to make cycling inclusive, accessible and fun.
